I just found out when Nokia’s PC Suite notified me with an update of their software. Nokia made the new firmware available couple of weeks ago and is only available for the European and Asian version of the N95.
The new Nokia N95 firmware update version 21.0.016 is ready to download (around 118mb) and install with Nokia Software Update utility. You can also visit the nearest Nokia Service center to request for an upgrade if you’re not comfortable on updating your phone on your own.
Â
The new N95 firmware version comes with Flash Lite 3 support, allowing you to watch Flash videos as the ones found on YouTube. Another important enhancement includes Widget (Web runtime) support, to let you easily customize the phone’s Internet content.
What’s new for v21.0.016 (over and above v20 firmware):
- Flash Lite 3 is included
- The Web runtime is included, meaning that standalone widgets are now possible
- Greater Bluetooth headset compatibility
- Better handling of entering lots of text into web page dialogs
- Speedier Gallery in every way
- Faster Java runtime, so Java applications start faster
- plus the usual miscellaneous bug fixes and tweaks
Just a quick note, there’s an ongoing problem with the new Software Update utility and Windows Vista. Most users using Vista are experiencing problems with the “Nokia service layer host” while updating their phones. I also encountered this problem and lucky for me, I didn’t bricked my phone. The only solution (for the meantime) is use Windows XP to update the N95 firmware.

They featured this in Hongkong during last week’s electronics fair. Truly amazing phone. Now that makes me a fan of Nokia again.

The new firmware update is a must have for all n95 users.
bloggista,
Its really is an amazing phone. The features it has is enough reason for me to go back to Nokia from using Windows mobile powered phones.
