After some delays, Automattic has finally released Wordpress 2.5 and is now available for download. The 2.5 branch is nicknamed “Brecker” in honor of Michael Brecker, an exceptionally talented saxophonist.

For a short overview of features with some screenshots, I suggest visiting the RC1 announcement. Or check the screencast of the new Wordpress interface in action. If you want to upgrade and go straight with the good stuff, I suggest checking your theme and plugins first to make sure that you won’t encounter some compatibility issues.

The improvements in 2.5 are numerous, and almost entirely a result of your feedback: multi-file uploading, one-click plugin upgrades, built-in galleries, customizable dashboard, salted passwords and cookie encryption, media library, a WYSIWYG that doesn’t mess with your code, concurrent post editing protection, full-screen writing, and search that covers posts and pages.

One of the things you need to consider to blog effectively is Technorati. Specifically, you need to know how to make it work to your advantage especially if you have plans on monetizing your blog.

At first, I was confused on how the system works and my ranking was stuck for months. Now its slowly going down (the lower the number is better) and I hope the trend will continue.

I was at the mall this afternoon, trying to cool myself from this hot humid weather then I decided to drop by at Datablitz to check out some new game titles. Lo and behold, Command & Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrath is already on their shelves ready for my picking. As an avid RTS fan like myself, I quickly asked the saleslady if I can have one and lucky me they still have one on stock.

Happy Easter everyone! I know… I know… I missed several days of blogging. Unfortunately, I’ve been busy these past couple of days testing and migrating some stuff on a new server. The only thing that I was able to complete these past few days is moderate some comments and do my daily Entrecard habit.

I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to get back immediately to those people who left a comment on my blog and/or sent PMs at my EC account. I’ll get back to you as soon as I get my hands free.

I’ll be going out today with Abby. We’re going to watch a movie at the mall, go to church and have a nice dinner, a nice break from all these work. If everything goes well, I’ll be back on blogging by tomorrow.

The first one sucked! Now, here’s the first trailer of upcoming reboot of the Hulk franchise. I first saw the teaser of the trailer a couple of days ago which got me excited. Based from the trailer, it’s the Abomination VS the Hulk!
