Apple has launched its updated MacBook and MacBook Pro models that feature faster Core 2 Duo processors, more memory, better video cards and higher price tags (Arggh!!!). Other than the upgraded specs, they look the same as the existing MacBook and MacBook Pro models.
The Apple MacBook Pro now also supports the same multi-touch features that are available on the MacBook Air. I guess this is Apple’s answer to MacBook Pro owners who wants the same multi-touch feature found on the Macbook Air.
The prices above was taken from Apple’s website and if you are a die-hard Mac fan or just professional designers looking for a new mobile gadget, then this one is for you. ![]()

I’m not surprised… Hopefully one day Apple products won’t be as pricey as now. Or Steve jobs might a nifty way to upagrade their notebooks so that you won’t spend too much just to get some improvements..

I just gave up on hoping their price will be reduce. It looks like this one’s price will also not budge much from the release price

Vance,
I thought the time that Apple products will be more affordable to consumers is when they shifted to linux (MAC OS X) and Intel, I guess I was wrong. I really don’t understand why its too overprice considering its almost the same as a mainstream PC.
BaseGuardian,
Me too. Macs are such a nice piece of hardware but the price is the only one that keeps me away from it.

A cheaper alternative although illegal is a hackintosh system, it said to run as fast as the real one. A updated version of hackintosh has also been out so that you need to boot the DVD first.. But As I said its illegal..
For me, If it was priced the same as a high end alienware, or any brand laptop it will be so worth it.. Plus you can dual boot. hrhr

True. Its much more logical (and practical) to build a mainstream PC then turn it into a hackintosh system.

You know I thought it was a huge upgrade like you stated but sadly the only thing that they have upgraded in the Macbook line (Pro and 13 incher) are the processors. It has now a faster processor with 6mb of L2 cache like the windows platform desktop procies. and the multi-touch trackpad. The vga card is still the same with 8600M Gt with upto 512Mb of ram and the memory is still them same 2Gb with an option to upgrade up to 4 Gb of ddr2 667 rams. Nothing major..
Anyone that bought a macbook last xmas or so don’t need to worry.
I was thinking they have upgraded the vga to Nvidia 8800 or any ATI counterpart but that didn’t happen.

Well actually, I found this out, if you want a cheap macbook or pro, apple is actually selling refurbished ones on their online store; if your not that picky..
