Yesterday, I was checking the Page Rank of my site which is just 3/10. I have plans to optimize the site to make it more search engine friendly and somehow increase its ranking in Google.
Now, while blog hopping a couple of hours ago, I noticed my page rank went up to 5/10. Not that I don’t want my PR rating to go up but a sudden change from 3 to 5 surprised me.

I then checked the rating on
prchecker.info which showed the same thing. Upon checking it again after an hour,
it went back to the original PR rating of 3/10 but the PR rating on the Google tool bar still shows 5/10. it appears that
http://lloydlopez.com has a PR of 3/10 while
http://www.lloydlopez.com has a PR of 5/10. This is starting to really confuse me.Can PR rating really change that fast? Is there some kind of system glitch going on here? Even,
Abe has a PR problem on his blog. Is there other people out there having the same scenario on their blog / site?
Update: I’m back to PR 3/10. Oh, well… it was good while it lasted.

As far as I know, http://www.lloydlopez.com and lloydlopez.com are interpreted by Google as two different sites. Read here and here. Hope that helps!

Jason,
I only know the basic stuff. Right now, I uploaded and activated some plugins that helps search engines at indexing the pages on my blog.
Plugins are Google Sitemaps Generator, WWW Redirect , and Add Meta Tags. I’m still testing some plugins that I’ll use. I’m making sure that it is compatible with WP 2.1.
I’m also using articles at John’s website (http://www.johntp.com) for referrence.
Shari,
Thank you for that.

You’re not alone lloyd. I’m having the same problem. I have 0/10 in google toolbar and 2/10 in mypagerank.net. When I refresh my blog, it gives me 6/10 in google toolbar but still 2/10 in mypagerank.net and tried also prchecker.info and gives me 2/10. Its really weird. Something is wrong in google toolbar pagerank indicator.

Hi Joel,
Yeah, it seems that google PR is really out of whack. Thanks for visiting.

Playing between 3 and 5? Maybe you’ll end up with a PR 4. Still good

Can somebody tell me what you are using to determine your pagerank? I have the google toolbar but all the pagerank buttons I have tried just redirect me to their websites. Thanks in advance

A.Ray,
You can use prchecker.info to check your pagerank.
