It was really unexpected but my almost 4 year old TV tuner just died on me. Windows can still detect it as an unknown device unfortunately installing the drivers even forcing it to be loaded in Windows was a failure. I got really frustrated about this since I had to cough out some dough again plus I lost my emails (in Outlook anyway) starting from January this year. Talk about bad luck……
Anyway, I rushed to SM North just before it closes. Most of the stores in the Cyber Zone are closed while some are still checking their inventory and stuff. Luckily, I found one store that was still open. I just asked the guards to let me in for just a few minutes since I just need to buy one item. After I few haggles with the PC store, I finally went home with a new TV tuner for P2700. Not really bad considering I bought my old Leadtek TV Tuner for almost the same price.
The tuner is an improvement of my old Leadtek Tuner. It incorporates de-interlacing plus a 10 bit chip. The differences between the two are noticeable. Picture quality is really good and de-interlacing the output provides great result. Though it wasn’t really planned, the upgrade was worth it. I’m very satisfied with the new TV Tuner.
