Summer time again and it’s a good chance to have a fresh look on my PC. It’s been a couple of months now since I cleaned my PC. Normally, I clean it every 3 months but because of my hectic schedule I can only do it on a free time (lots and lots of free time). I guess, some people will say, just use a clean cloth and wipe the dirt on the computer.
Unfortunately, I don’t treat my computer as a mere appliance. When I say clean my PC, I mean cleaning it from the outside including its components inside. Not just removing dust, dirt and smut! This is the time I can re-apply some thermal paste to the processor, chipset, and graphics card. It’s also a good time to do some cable management as well which sad to say I fail every time I tried. You might ask “What good will it do?†Well, a lot of benefits actually. Aside from making it dust free, you can make the airflow inside your computer more efficient, An efficient airflow inside the computer will likely make your components run cooler which prolongs the its life. This will benefit the user since it will reduce component breakdown and cost.
It’s really up to the user on how he / she maintain his / her computer. Some people use compress air cans to clean out the dust while some will use a brush (paint brush with soft bristles). A more techie user will most likely dissemble their computer, clean each component and re-assemble it from scratch. I belong to the latter part and that’s the reason I need lots of time when I clean my computer.
I’ll post my activity later on.
