I was having problems with my connections lately and called Bayantel’s tech support to have my lines check. Unfortunately, they keep on insisting that I have no problems with my connection. They told me that the reason why I have a slow connection it’s because I am on a residential connection and its shared with other subscribers.
I know its just plain old B.S. and they think that their subscribers don’t know anything. I’m getting 300kbps - 500kbps for crying out loud and I’m supposed to be getting 896kbps!
A group of technicians were sent to my house to have my lines check and the same thing (B.S. statement) was given to me. I have no time nor interest to argue with them at that time. I just requested for my old modem to be replace since I was using it for almost 2 years now and its becoming unreliable already.
They gave me a Zyxel DSL modem / CPE device with no questions ask maybe because they noticed my disappointment about my connection problem. Well, I’m quite happy with my new modem now and connection seems much more stable compared to what I get when I was still using my old Aztech DSL modem. I don’t see any signs overheating unlike the old one and did not encounter any problems when using my Linksys router.
I’m just curious about the configuration which can be set using the new DSL modem. I already have the user name & password and I just need the device’s IP address to access its web configuration. If your a SkyDSL subscriber and have information about the settings, please shoot me an email.
