Honestly, I didn’t planned to buy a new sound card but I had no choice when the technician from Villman told me that it will take 3 weeks or more before I’ll get the Audigy 2 that I requested to be RMAed.
I was reading a thread in PinoyPC about soundcards and a member posted that he was able to get an Audigy 4 for on P4000. I was surprise about his post because the last time I checked, the Audigy 4 Pro was priced at a staggering P17,000.
Upon further research, I found out that Creative recently release a slimmed version of the Audigy 4. I then took a little trip at the mall to check if this card is already available and luckily I was able to find one (and only) store that carries an Audigy 4 card.

After a few haggle, I was able to get the card at P4200. Not bad, considering the card packs some new features and a remote to boot! I have no regrets buying this card, sound it really great when playing
MP3s and games. With the Augidy 4, the sound effects in
FEAR were awesome!

Okay, I got a new sound card and I’m thinking of getting a new set of surround speakers. My 3 year old
Altec Lansing ACS 54 4.1 surround speaker is obsolete and it’s already asking to be replaced. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get one after these coming months.
