Thursday Intel announced the successor to its 37 year old logo and the “Intel Inside“ slogan that has accompanied it for the last decade. The new logo features a similar oval swirl surrounding the company name which no longer features the lowered “e” along with the new slogan “Leap Ahead”. Intel is expected to formally reveal this re-branding with further details during next weeks Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Imagine a PSP type system that would support not only games, pictures, music and video but also e-books and the ability to snag free emulators including MAME for most older gaming systems but on a Linux-based platform. And the best thing is it only cost $179USD!!!
The machine comes with dual cpu cores, 64mb ram, 64mb NAND flash memory, SD card compatible slot, USB 2.0 connection, 3.5″ TFT LCD screen and TV-out. Also, the devices supports playback of most codecs such as MPEG, MPEG4, DivX 3.11, 4x, 5x, XVID, WMV, MP3, OGG, WMA, JPG, BMP, PCX, GIF and others. Also, support for e-book, games and a built-in electronic dictionary are built-in to the device. Also, the GP2X runs off regular two AAs batteries so a six pack will allow you to game, watch movies or listen to music the entire plane trip from the US to Hong Kong (one of the few places you’ll be able to get the GP2X in Q1 2006).

Very interesting story of how AIDS is being treated in Botswana. It seems that they are now able to slow the progression of the disease down, but still are not able to stow it totally. It’s a step towards a cure…
The results are visible. Patients who once arrived in wheelchairs and on stretchers now walk to clinics. Others believed to be on their deathbeds are back at work.
The treatment is complicated, and missed doses can cause resistance to build. But churches and other groups help ensure patients have a “buddy” to support them, and doctors say the rate of adherence tops 85 percent.

Finally! I finished updating my blog to WordPress 2.0. I did encounter some quirks along the way like my modified theme did not work properly with the new blog engine. I had to load the default Rin theme and redo my modification from scratch. The good thing was that all the plugins that I used works with WP ver 2.
And I must say, I’m very impressed with the new feature of WP 2. Writing a post and modifying it the way you like to appear is easier than the previous versions. The new dashboard layout is really great but with the same old feel and user friendly interface. For those who are planning to upgrade to WordPress 2.0, I suggest reading the following links below:
